It’s been a while since my last post. My life became pretty steady, nothing really spectacular is going on around. Last week I came to Thai boxing classes, this week I conclude to give it up cause they didn’t really match me.
Now I just run every night usually at 6pm.
I also had few nice surfers coming to my house recently.
Kevin and his girlfriend. Guys from North America. They were at their trip around Vietnam. Stayed over just for one night here. They also came to my CS meeting which I organize every Wednesday.
Hillary and Courtney from US. They were at their Asian trip together. They have been travelling for a 5 month already and in March they coming back home.
And the last guy was from France. He was volunteering in north Vietnam as french teacher for 2 month, had flight from there to Nha Trang and today he went to Saigon for another volunteer job.
That’s pretty much it. In March I expect a girl from Finland on 8-10 and a girl from Russian on 18-22. And now I’m gonna go for my jogging. Up to next time.
Yesterday we arrived in Da Lat. We were 5 people, my friend’s family and my Chinese surfer, the girl 23 years old.
Dalat is 200,000 people city 250 km from mine. This is the city of entire spring. Temperature here is around 22 degrees round the year. People don’t use air conditioners, fans and heating system here, very comfortable weather. There is mountains here. Dalat is less crowded then Nha Trang. Architecture is similar to European, during the colonial period the city was for french resorts.
A friend of mine have hostel on Phuket and now he is thinking about opening one more hostel here in Dalat. One good advantage of Dalat is that less expenses for electricity when it comes to hotels and hostels.
Yesterday we checked in to the hotel with room with twin beds, one for that family and one for me with Chinese girl, we were hosted her here as well like in Nha Trang.
I always like to meet new local people when I come to new place and in the afternoon yesterday I found in Tinder one girl, we met up last night and she showed me around. We had dinner, went to the market where I bought very cheap strawberry and went to the bar where we drunk beer and listened good music, there was even concert of life music there.
She works as a dancer of traditional dances here in a park. We’d like to see her today.
My plans are going for a walk to that park today and for city tour tomorrow.
Tomorrow I’m gonna come back home. I’ve got couchsurfers tomorrow and CS event which I organised tomorrow night.
I woke up at around 10 am and went to my girlfriends place for breakfast/lunch. After I went to my favourite hostel and met there great girl from Maya, from Israel. Invited her to my party tonight.
Then I had an appointment with my friend Mira and her sister. We were walking taking some pictures like this
And this. This is Thuy. She is beautiful and looks pretty similar to Mira. Unfortunately Thuy doesn’t speak English.
This night I had party on my rooftop. We cooked bbq. My couchsurfers were vegetarian. They cooked vegetables.
And we cooked frogs and chicken.
There are Maya next to me, then Ruta and Rigile, Will and Mary-Jane with Thea.
Great day, great start of the year)
The other day a guy from Saigon visited my place by couchsurfing. He was originally from Pushtu region of Pakistan but from now on he lives in Saigon here. He got a teaching English job there and enjoying his life in tropical country.
He was actually one of the most fascinating personalities I’ve ever met in my life. And I spent belly good time with him.
He was my ages, he lives in the same country and we got lots of common interests.
First day, yesterday, we enjoying night life in Nha Trang. Drinking beer, visiting my favourite hostel’s party on the rooftop there, smoking shisha, drinking againg and ending up in “Why not” and “Sailing” clubs here.
Today we had some cultural program. We visited Stone Garden and Po Nagar. After that we went to the North Market to take a look. This is a picture from there, Hamza was bargaining long time in order to knock off the price for this tee to 40 dongs.
Have a good trip, mate. See you in Saigon or welcome to Nha Trang once again!
Hostel turned out nothing special. They had a discount on Booking.com and I decided to book a bed in dorm for one night just in order to see what’s going on there and may be to stay longer after that.
When I came receptionist has slept yet. I woke him up and he said me wifi password, I hung around the lobby sitting on the internet.
Then I made my everyday an hour jogging and got back to the hostel.
When they’ve said that this price 5 euro doesn’t include free towel and using a kitchen I changed my mind to stay here. I booked another hostel through hostelworld and today I’ll see how it is there.
This day I’ve also visited Kalenic market in Belgrade. It’s possible to find 15 cents apples, 60 cents peaches and pears here. Amazing. I definitely want to come here back. I forgot about national Serbian cheese Brinza, without fail I’ll buy it later cause I like this type of cheese.
Serbians use their own currency which is 120 dinars for 1 euro. But the prices for real estate are in euro. It was in Kazakhstan and Russia in 90s when we used our currencies only for cheap purchasing and for something expensive prices were in US dollars.
Also they have two types of alphabet: latin and cyrillic. Both are official as you can see on this signboard with the name of the street.
In the evening I went to weekly couchserfing meeting
There were about 20 people. It was pretty good, we talked about history a lot.
I was drinking Serbian vodka with different flavours. And the olives are as a chaser. Frankly, Serbian Rakia as much as Hungarian Palinka are awful drinks. I drunk Hungarian stuff cause it was for free, everybody likes free rides. And yesterday I just wanted to try Serbian stuff and compare it to Hungarian and I ordered even 3 shots. It turned out that this stuff is awful as well.
But actually I liked event and Belgrade. Will see what happens next.
